Emma Read, Managing DirectorEmma Read 2013 2

Throughout her career, award winning executive producer, Emma Read, has made thousands of hours of factual programmes for many channels including BBC, ITV, C4, FIVE, SKY and Discovery and successfully commissioned for SKY, Discovery and Animal Planet.

Prior to Emporium Productions, Emma was Head of Factual Programmes for ITN Productions, responsible for numerous critically acclaimed series such as BBC2’s Young Vets based at the Royal Veterinary College, Harrow: A Very British School (Sky 1) and Gordonstoun: A Different Class (Sky 1) which followed a year in the lives of two world-renowned pillars of British education, Climbing Great Buildings (BBC2), The Secret Life of Pets and Roadworks Ahead (C5), Mud Men (History), Antiques House (Sky Arts) as well as numerous thought provoking, fast turnaround factual such as Flight 370: The Missing Links and Alive: 60 Days Under Snow (Discovery).

As a commissioning editor Emma was responsible for shows as diverse as Brainiac Science Abuse, Big Ron Manager and Moscow Siege and throughout her career has worked with top on screen talent such as Heston Blumenthal, Mark Williams, Vic Reeves, Richard Hammond and many others.

Paul Cohen – Commercial Director

Paul oversees Emporium’s commercial activities including business and legal affairs, rights exploitation, production finance issues and business development. Paul has also been a member of the PACT Council since 2011 and is currently Vice-Chair of Pact. Paul is Group Commercial Director for the Hat Trick Group. He joined Hat Trick in the Autumn of 2000 as Legal and Business Affairs Manager and was made head of department in 2004. Prior to joining he worked as in-house counsel for SBS in Australia and also in London and Sydney for an international law firm.


Laura Djanogly – Director of Production

As Director of Production, Laura oversees all of Emporium’s productions from initial development and budget negotiations, through production to delivery.
Laura has been Joint Director of Production for the Hat Trick Group since 2001, prior to which she was Programme Finance Manager at Channel 4 looking after Arts, Sport and Entertainment, a role which followed 14 years in the freelance production world working in Music, Comedy, Entertainment and Documentary.
